New Hampshire panel rejects gay marriage.


CONCORD, N.H. -- A state commission on same-sex unions A Same-sex union refers to an enduring relationship between two people of the same gender.

Literary, historical, and archaeological evidence of such unions has been found for a number of diverse cultures as early as 2400 B.C.

The commission has been meeting since April, gathering testimony from the public as well as doctors and other experts. It is expected to issue its report to the Legislature on Dec. 1.

Earlier this month, the panel voted to recommend a constitutional amendment stating marriage is between one woman and one man.
