New Gold Occurrence Discovered in the Tulawaka Region, Tanzania.

MONTREAL -- MDN NORTHERN MINING (MINIERES DU NORD) (TSX:MDN) is pleased to announce the discovery of a new gold occurrence at the Isozibi target in the Tulawaka region, Tanzania, from a recently completed first phase drilling campaign.

This discovery has been made in a Prospecting License optioned from Tanzanian Royalty Exploration Corp., located about 17 km northwest of the Tulawaka Gold Mine process plant. The mineralization  found in this program was previously completely unknown; it covers an area approximately 1.0 km long by 0.9 km wide and was tested initially by seven drill fences comprising 26 drill holes for a total of 2,582 m. Drill holes were sited on fences to obtain complete overlap of specific targets, and were drilled at an angle of 60 degrees from the horizontal to an average depth of 70 m in areas of gentle relief, and 140 m on the hill slopes. The drill fences were spaced approximately 200 m from each other. Drilling was done with the reverse circulation (RC) technique. Because of the nature of this drilling technique, it is not possible to accurately determine the true width and orientation of the mineralized intersections.

Samples from this program were prepared and analyzed by Humac Laboratories in Tanzania. Duplicates, commercial standards and blanks were inserted into the sample stream, all were reported within acceptable limits. The drilling program was carried out under the direction of Geologist Brian Lloyd, supervised by Carlos Bertoni, P.Geo., a Qualified Person under NI 43-101.

This new occurrence is being included in the follow-up drilling program planned to further investigate the gold mineralization discovered in other locations close to Tulawaka last year. Carlos Bertoni, CEO of MDN NORTHERN MINING, stated: "This is the third completely new gold discovery from our drill program in the region. This new gold occurrence is associated with fracture zones in iron formations. We are confident that other significant gold occurrences will be found in this region, which has remained virtually unexplored until now".
