New GE Center Speeds Color Development.


GE Plastics, Pittsfield, Mass., has opened a new facility to help designers and OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) The rebranding of equipment and selling it. The Center expands GE's Colorxpress Services, which include Internet on-line color selection, custom color matching, Micro-Lot matching, and color management programs. For $2500, the Center can develop a custom match and deliver sample chips in 48 hr. The Center's facilities and capabilities include four key areas:

* Development consulting helps customers refine the looks and functional specifications of their products through discussions of part design, quality, color and effect development, and tooling.

* A constantly growing library of more than 20,000 color chips can be viewed under various standard lighting conditions.
