New England Province of Jesuits Honors Carolyn and Peter Lynch at Fourth Annual Jesuit Dinner.


WATERTOWN, Mass. -- Esteemed Ad Majorem Dei Gloriam Award Presented at Fundraising Event in Boston

The New England New England, name applied to the region comprising six states of the NE United States—Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Connecticut. The NE Province praised the couple for their commitment to charitable and religious causes that seek to enrich the lives of others. "We are privileged to accept the 2004 Ad Majorem Dei Gloriam Award from the New England Province because the Jesuits have truly had a profound impact on our lives," said Peter Lynch. "We can see the meaningful difference the NE Province and Jesuits make everyday, and thank them for their dedication, leadership and collaborative spirit," remarked Carolyn Lynch.

The fourth annual Jesuit dinner, hosted by Mary C. Richardson of "Chronicle" on WCVB-TV, was held at the Boston Marriott Copley Place Copley Place is an enclosed shopping mall located in the Back Bay section of Boston, Massachusetts. It is part of a complex that includes office buildings, two hotels, and a parking garage. . Leaders from New England's business, education and religious communities comprised the 500+ attendees. Previous Ad Majorem Dei Gloriam Award recipients include Reverend William B. Neenan, SJ, Archbishop Lawrence J. Burke, SJ and His Eminence His Eminence is a historical style of address for high nobility, still in use as a style of reference to the cardinalate of the Roman Catholic Church. "Carolyn and Peter truly exemplify the Jesuit tradition of service to others; they are an inspiration to us all," said V. Reverend Thomas J. Regan, SJ, provincial for the NE Province. "Through The Lynch Foundation and their numerous philanthropic efforts, Carolyn and Peter live out the motto of our founder, St. Ignatius, when he said 'love ought to be put more in deeds than in words.' It is for this reason the NE Province honors them with the Ad Majorem Dei Gloriam Award."
