Wednesday's meeting on Capitol Hill is sponsored by The New England Council, a non-profit organization A non-profit organization (abbreviated "NPO", also "non-profit" or "not-for-profit") is a legally constituted organization whose primary objective is to support or to actively engage in activities of public or private interest without any commercial or monetary profit purposes.  formed to promote economic growth and quality of life in the region. "As we are learning from the situation in California, reliable energy supplies matter a great deal to economic success," says James Brett, president and CEO of The New England Council. "We feel that by meeting on a regular basis to coordinate the needs and concerns of industry and government we are better positioned to successfully address energy issues as they arise.
