New Deal.

Niall McLaughlin Architects Niall McLaughlin Architects is a London, England company that designs modern architecture. They put a strong emphasis on the inventive use of building materials, the qualities of light and the relationship between the building and its surroundings.  charmed the judges of the 2002 AR Awards for Emerging Architecture with their delightful Bexhill Pavillion Band Stand. Bucket and spade Bucket and spade sets are traditional British seaside paraphernalia that can be bought cheaply from any beachside vendor. They usually consist of a small plastic bucket with a handle and a small shovel, both of which can be decorated with a variety of bright colours and patterns.  in hand again, perhaps, they are soon to return to the British coastline, having won an RIBA RIBA Royal Institute of British Architects  competition to renovate the cafe-bar facility at the end of Deal Pier, Kent.

. In recognition of extreme weather conditions, and the limited budget, nothing they have proposed is superfluous. Instead, they have sought materials and forms that will endure, with an untreated hardwood frame, which within a year will have weathered silver to complement the existing concrete structure.

In order to control costs, the new facilities will occupy the same area as the existing cafe, with the number of components reduced to the bare minimum, in a modular system comprising just one type of column and beam. Relatively few openings have been proposed, again to save money, preserving the space itself as the proposal's single most luxurious indulgence. Being fully glazed to maximise views for users and more distant onlookers, the new pavilion proposes a number of integrated environmental strategies, including cool air intake through concrete benches, and slatted screens that reduce wind turbulence and provide shelter.
