New Compaq ENSA Storage Solutions Enable NonStop eBusiness.

), the new solutions allow customers in all levels of an organization - from small workgroups to large, business-critical applications - to improve performance, increase availability, and lower overall storage management costs. The new Smart Array 4200 controller is compatible with all Smart Array models so customers can easily upgrade for higher performance, capacity, and availability within minutes. The Smart Array 4200 controller is $2,200(3) and will be available in August.

The new system can be configured in a single-server environment or in a cluster. Enhanced SAN Solutions

Compaq also enhanced two of its leading SAN-based solutions with new features. Compaq also announced a new Rack 9000 Series of Rack Cabinets to house current and legacy Compaq ProLiant, AlphaServer, and Tandem servers, workstations, networking, and StorageWorks solutions. The solution provides simplified management with a unique design to minimize installation time. The Rack 9000 Series products are 19-inch RETMA RETMA Radio Electronics Television Manufacturers Association (rack spacing)  standard and support most third-party equipment. The Server Console Switch, a key component of rackmount implementations, allows multiple servers to be accessed and managed by one keyboard, mouse, and monitor (console). The 4- or 8-port console switches can be connected in a tiered fashion to increase server access to as many as 64 servers. The Rack 9000 Series is available immediately and starts at $1,295. The Server Console Switch 4- or 8-port models start at $965. The switches are available now.
