New CodeRed mod carriers Trojan in pocket. (News and Products).


Kasperksy Labs, have detected a new variant of the "CodeRed" ("Bady") Internet worm (networking, security) Internet Worm - The November 1988 worm perpetrated by Robert T. Morris. The worm was a program which took advantage of bugs in the Sun Unix sendmail program, Vax programs, and other security loopholes to distribute itself to over 6000 computers on the . Unlike the two previous worm variants, CodeRed.c installs a Trojan program on an infected in·fect

 computer that opens general access to C: and D: drives. A new approach to choosing IP addresses is also included in the latest variant when attacking a system. As is known from the earlier CodeRed variants, the worm selected addresses randomly in such a way were thwarted thwart
