, World Youth Day 2002 Director, had been appointed chief executive officer of Salt and Light Television Network, formerly called Inner Peace, a new 24-hour television network, the first such Catholic station in Canada. The network was launched seven months ago in conjunction with World Youth Day. Fr. Rosica takes on full-time duties as CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization. Typically the president of the company, the CEO reports to the Chairman of the Board.  in July of this year.

Designed as a place of respite and connection for Catholics, it was founded by a large Toronto printing company, St. Joseph Corporation, owned by Toronto's Gagliano family. It has the full approval and encouragement of Toronto's Archbishop Cardinal Aloysius Ambrozic Aloysius Matthew Cardinal Ambrozic (born January 27, 1930) is a Roman Catholic cardinal and Archbishop Emeritus of Toronto. He became a cardinal on February 21, 1998.

Ambrozic was born in Gabrje, Slovenia as Alojzij Ambrožič.

 starting in March. The Catholic network is currently available in Ontario. Over the next year it will be introduced nationally.

It will offer multilingual programming primarily in Italian, English, and French, but also in Filipino, Polish, Portuguese, and Spanish. The network's programming, now in the developmental stage, will focus on five program areas:

1) Prayer, devotion, and meditation

2) Liturgy and Faith connections local and global

3) Catecheses and growth in the Catholic Faith according to the Magisterium mag·is·te·ri·um

4) Expressions and stories of Catholic action and social justice at the community level

5) A communications platform for the Church.

The station is available at present on Rogers Cable in Ontario. Catholics elsewhere in Canada are encouraged to request their own cable providers to make Salt and Light available in their area.

The network's growing list of partnerships includes Telespace, SAT 2000, Pauline Communication Network, and Eternal Word Television Network The Eternal Word Television Network ("EWTN") is a U.S.-based broadcasting network that carries Catholic-themed programming, including a Daily Mass from its Birmingham, Alabama Monastery/Studios, talk shows such as EWTN Live and Sunday Night Live, .
