New Castle County, Del. Tames Its Paper Tiger With Image-Based Internet Deeds Management Solution From Unisys, American Cadastre.

Records warehouse for eight million documents replaced by

electronic images accessed, managed and paid for over the Internet

The mountains of paper and microfilm accumulated over centuries by the county's Recorder of Deeds Recorder of deeds refers to the government office tasked with maintaining a record of real estate ownership, as well as other deeds that provide persons other than the owner of a property with real rights over that property.  Office are now stored as electronic images in a Unisys e-@ction Enterprise Server the size of a file drawer, thanks to the Land Information System provided by American Cadastre CADASTRE. The $1.6 million project also includes bar coding, cashiering and receipting to enable users to pay for recording of documents submitted to the Recorder of Deeds office.
