New Canadian company launches "Journal of Geriatric Care".

A new company, Journal of Geriatric Care, Inc. (JGC; Concord, ON) has begun the publication of the Journal of Geriatric Care magazine. It will be published six times a year and has a controlled circulation of 25,000 professionals dealing with patients over 50 years of age, including Canadian family practitioners, geriatricians and medical libraries.

JGC said the title covers all aspects of geriatric care including cardiological, neurological, infectious and respiratory diseases, cancer, musculoskeletal and endocrine/metabolic disorders. It also carries studies, clinical summaries, and peer-reviewed critical reviews.

Managing editor Tania Xerri said the launch filled a void in the Canadian medical publishing market and that the aging of the 'baby boom' generation makes the title especially relevant.
