New CCH subscription service on fiduciary duties and fund performance.

CCH (Riverwoods, IL) has launched the Plan Investment Analyzer, a new subscription service targeted to those responsible for 401(k) and 403(b) plans. The service is designed to help subscribers fulfill their fiduciary responsibility to plan participants through appropriate investment choices and supplies plan sponsors with "unbiased" information that explains how to deal with fiduciary issues. It also includes an electronic evaluation tool for evaluating fund performance.

As part of their subscription, users receive "The 401(k) & 403 (b) Participant-Directed Handbook," delivered in print and electronically. The handbook explains the concept of fiduciary responsibility, how it applies to retirement plan investments, and information administrators need in order to choose appropriate 401(k) vendors and investment vehicles. Updated quarterly, it includes an explanation of benchmarking retirement plan investments, sample forms, checklists and evaluation spreadsheets.

To use the evaluation tool, users submit information about their plan via a secure email address to the independent evaluation service. With an ID and password, users can access their fund's evaluations at any time. CCH is offering two subscription options: $2,500 for the "Handbook" in both formats and two plan evaluations or $5000 with four evaluations. Additional evaluations can be purchased for $1500 each.
