New Book on Simulation-Based Lean Six-Sigma and Design for Six-Sigma Provides a Solid Base for the Theoretical and Practical Aspects of Discrete Event Simulation (DES).

DUBLIN, Ireland -- Research and Markets (http://www.researchandmarkets.com/reports/c47849) has announced the addition of Simulation-based Lean Six-Sigma and Design for Six-Sigma to their offering.

This book concentrates on Six Sigma Not to be confused with Sigma 6.
Six Sigma is a set of practices originally developed by Motorola to systematically improve processes by eliminating defects.[1] A defect is defined as nonconformity of a product or service to its specifications.

in simulation environments. For example, axiomatic design Axiomatic design is systems design methodology using matrix methods to systematically analyze the transformation of customer needs into functional requirements, design parameters, and process variables. The method gets its name from its use of design principles or design Axioms (i. , design for X, theory of inventive problem solving problem solving

), transfer function and scorecards are really powerful methods to create superior service improvements or designs; that is, to do the right things within our whole quality perspective. This book also brings another class of powerful methods in transaction-based simulation arena such as DOE and Lean Manufacturing into its toolbox.

and present approaches to applications via several case studies. This books main distinguishing feature is its completeness and comprehensiveness starting from high-level overview, deployment aspects and service problem-solving and design toolboxes. Most of the important topics in both Six Sigma and DFSS are discussed clearly and in depth along with their implementation in simulation environment. The implementation, theoretical, and practical aspects of Six Sigma and DFSS roadmap and their associated toolboxes and methods are all covered very carefully and in complete detail.

The book also provides a solid base for the theoretical and practical aspects of Discrete Event Simulation In discrete event simulation, the operation of a system is represented as a chronological sequence of events. Each event occurs at an instant in time and marks a change of state in the system [1].  (DES). This is the only book that discusses all transaction-based Six Sigma and DFSS perspectives, such as Transfer functions, Axiomatic Design and DOE methods in great detail. This book can be used ideally either as a complete reference book on Six Sigma or on Simulation Modeling, or a complete training material for Six Sigma teams.
