Oridion Systems Ltd. (NSWX: ORIDN) - the manufacturer of Microstream(R) capnography and BreathID(R) diagnostic breath test products - today announced that it will be exhibiting its BreathID(R) breath test system and its Microstream(R) enabled products at Digestive Disease Week (booth 251) taking place between May 17-22, 2003 in Orlando, Florida, USA.

Since receiving final FDA clearance from the US Food & Drug Administration (FDA) for the BreathID(R) system and H. pylori breath test at the end of last year, the BreathID(R) has been ordered by both Gastroenterologists and PCP's. It is being used for both H. pylori initial diagnosis and to determine if H. pylori has been eradicated after treatment. Feedback from users and patients describe satisfaction as very high.

Three studies are being presented at DDW by independent researchers, which have found new applications for the BreathID(R) for pediatric patients, patients on PPI therapies and patients undergoing endoscopic procedures. They are as follows:

In addition to the BreathID(R), Oridion will be exhibiting its Microstream(R) enabled capnography products. An increasing number of gastroenterology (GI) procedures, such as endoscopy are currently being carried out under procedural sedation using fast acting drugs such as propofol. Due to their fast action, these drugs can promote faster recovery times for patients. Propofol and other sedation agents can also cause significant respiratory depression, Oridion's Microstream(R) capnography can increase patient safety by helping alert care providers to this danger.
