New Anglican Foundation director named.

Dean John van Nostrand Wright, formerly of Christ Church Cathedral Christ Church Cathedral is the name of the Anglican Cathedral in several cities around the world, including the following: In Australia

 in Victoria, has been appointed executive director of the Anglican Foundation.

Mr. Wright, who is 62, currently lives in La Have, N.S., and intends to move to Toronto. He was to start June 1. A cousin of Archbishop Andrew Hutchison Andrew Sandford Hutchison L.Th., D.D, D.C.L. (h.c.) (born in Toronto in 1938), is a retired Primate of the Anglican Church of Canada. Prior to his election at the General Synod of 2004, he was the bishop of Montreal and metropolitan of the ecclesiastical province of Canada (which, , the primate, Mr. Wright is the former dean of British Columbia and rector of Victoria's Christ Church Cathedral. "He has over 36 years of ministry and has served in six dioceses and three ecclesiastical provinces," the Anglican Foundation said in an announcement. He succeeds Canon John Erb, who died last July.

Mr. Wright is currently dean emeritus of Columbia (diocese of British Columbia); co-chair of the Conference of Cathedral Deans, Spouses and Partners of North America; Chevalier, the Sovereign Order of St. John There are several orders of chivalry called the Order of Saint John, which claim as their origins the Knights Hospitaller Christian crusading order. In 1999, Mr. Wright was disciplined by the diocese after parents of students at the cathedral school complained to then-bishop Barry Jenks that Mr. Wright had made inappropriate, sexually-suggestive remarks in front of the students. A diocesan review committee in 2001 directed that he remove himself from daily operations of the cathedral school and apologize to the complainants.
