New AIA Chapter names executive board members.

AIA AIA - Application Integration Architecture  Peconic, a Chapter of The American Institute of Architects The American Institute of Architects (AIA) is a professional organization for architects in the United States. Organized in 1857, the Institute conducts various activities and programs to support the profession and enhance its public image, including periodically awarding the AIA , has elected a new slate of officers to its executive board at its December meeting.

Newly elected for 2006 are: Richard F. Stott as president, Blaze Makoid as vice president, Dawn Harvey as secretary and Anthony DiSunno as treasurer.

This is the first election for the new chapter--AIA Peconic was formerly a section of AIA Long Island and was granted Chapter status by the National office of The American Institute of Architects in May 2005. The Chapter consists of over one hundred members in the five East End towns.

Richard F. Stott is the owner/president of Flynn + Stott Architects, P.C., located in Southampton, with residential and commercial projects throughout Long Island. This is Stott's second round in office--he served a one-year term as president of the East End Section of the AIA Long Island in 1997.

"I plan to achieve two important goals: to make the public aware of the architectural resources available in our area by actively promoting our members and to bring the Peconic Chapter into a new era of opportunities for its members by improving communication and providing ongoing continuing education continuing education: see adult education.
