New AAC and U Board members. (News and Information).Four new members have been appointed to AAC&U's Board of Directors: John Casteen, president of the University of Virginia; Elaine Maimon, chief campus officer and provost of Arizona State University West; Thomas "Les" Purce, president of The Evergreen State College; and Jamienne Studley, president of Skidmore College Skidmore College, at Saratoga Springs, N.Y.; chartered and opened 1911 as Skidmore School of Arts (for women) through a gift from Lucy Skidmore Scribner; chartered as a college 1922. In 1972 the school was opened to male students..
