from Graham Engineering Corp., York. Pa., is being used to make industrial containers. This type of' machine, which uses a "shooting pot" (similar to an accumulator head) to deliver multiple parisons, was previously used mainly to make lightweight t-gal milk jugs. As we reported in May, the versatile SPM SPM - Sequential Parlog Machine  Series was introduced at the NPE NPE NullPointerException (Java)

 show ink Chicago.

The new SPM 4.5-8 model, sold to a producer of 1-gal and 3-qt chemical containers, features a larger grooved extruder (4.5-in., 28:1) and shooting speed greater than 1000 g/see (up to 3000 g/sec optional). The eight-head unit has 9-in. center spacing, 100-point parison par´i`son

 programming, three-point front die adjustment, hydraulic ram-down pre-finish, and tool-less blow-pin adjustment.

The shot-pot machine can produce heavier bottles than conventional/reciprocating screws due to greater shot capacity, which is independent of extruder diameter, says Graham. It also features faster parison drop and overall cycles. This model runs an 11-sec cycle producing 44 containers/min. Other features include quiet-running gear motor and a continuous screen changer Changer
