Citrix today also announced it has entered into a definitive licensing agreement with Telxon Corporation to embed ICA support into the Telxon line of mobile wireless pen-based computers.

"The addition of VXL, HDS and Telxon to our family of distinguished ICA licensees furthers our strategy for making business-critical Windows applications accessible to the broadest range of users, regardless of user location, type of client device, operating platform or available bandwidth," said Edward Iacobucci, Citrix chairman and chief technical officer. Originally designed for teletype operations, it has found wide application in computers.  and ANSI terminals, will incorporate the ICA protocol in future versions of its network terminal product line, which will be available in early 1997. Citrix's ICA technology will enable VXL Instruments to develop a broad range of fixed-function terminals, designed to deliver 32-bit Windows applications to specific markets, such as point-of-sale and banking, that have been traditionally tied to non-graphical ASCII terminals.

"VXL is committed to developing a range of ICA-based thin clients, beginning with WinLinx, a network terminal for Windows NT (Windows New Technology) A 32-bit operating system from Microsoft for Intel x86 CPUs.
