Network Solutions Launches New Web Site; `Storefront' Features Millenium Rebate for .net and .org Registrations.

HERNDON, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 13, 1999--

Visitors to www.networksolutions.com will notice a fresh new look and feel as they visit Network Solutions, Inc.'s (NASDAQ NASDAQ

The new look is part of Network Solutions' strategy to make the registration and management of Web addresses easier for newcomers and existing customers. The brand new Web site also serves as a "storefront" for all of Network Solutions' Internet identity services.

As part of its new storefront, Network Solutions is featuring a Millenium Rebate Special Offer to encourage its customers to protect their online identity with the registration of new .net and .org Web addresses as a complement to their .com registrations. For each .net and .org registration purchased between December 11, 1999 and January 15, 2000, Network Solutions is offering a $10 rebate for customers paying online. Customers can register as many .net and .org Web addresses as they wish to take advantage of the rebate. Anyone is eligible to register for .net and .org Web addresses. The .net and .org domain names are available to all customers and function just the same as .com .

"We already have one of the busiest e-commerce sites on the Web," said Doug Wolford, senior vice president and general manager of Registrar and Value Added Value Added

"Now, our new storefront gives customers a lot more flexibility and makes it easy to get a Web address in minutes. They can purchase our services in bundles or a la carte, and they don't have to know Internet speak See digispeak and geekspeak.  to find the services they're shopping for. Customers will find the new storefront much more user-friendly." To create the new storefront, Network Solutions surveyed small business owners, which are among its largest customer segment. The company also examined how its customers use the site by looking at all the purchase paths customers could take to offer complementary products and services during the registration process and for returning customers. For example, customers can take advantage of the dot com dot com - com  essentials(TM) package on almost every sales path. The "essentials" package includes a Web address, a one-page Web site and personalized e-mail.

A new "Make Changes" path helps current customers of Web addresses hosted by Network Solutions. These customers can come back to change contact or domain name server information, to add personalized e-mail boxes, to configure dot com forwarding(TM), which points visitors to a single Web site using multiple Web addresses, and to register new Web addresses. Once the changes and new purchases are submitted online, customers immediately receive an acknowledgment as an added assurance. Other features of storefront include: a catalog of services page describing all products and services; an improved Whois query functionality that allows for a conclusive search of all domain names; and a progress chart that appears throughout the purchase process. Prices for Network Solutions' services remain the same.

For a Network Solutions-managed Web address which includes the use of a one-page Web site or dot com forwarding, and a listing in the dot com directory(TM), the price is $119 for two years, and for an ISP-hosted Web address, the price is $70 for two years. The Millenium Rebate Special Offer includes a $10 rebate off both the $119 and $70 offers.
