Demand Surges For Trellix' Customizable Web Site Publishing

Offerings Among Small Business Service Providers

With the number of U.S. small businesses with web sites set to double to 4.5 million by 2003, according to market research firm International Data Corporation (IDC), Internet companies are moving aggressively to aggregate comprehensive services for small businesses. Central to any small business service offering is best-of-breed, customizable web site publishing capabilities, and Trellix(R) Corporation has become the web site publishing partner of choice for small business service providers. Today the company announced exclusive agreements with a range of small business providers including Network Commerce (Nasdaq: NWKC), B2SB Technologies Corp. and OLM.net. Under the agreements, each company will integrate Trellix's browser-based web site publishing platform, Trellix Web(R) Express, to create a unique private-label solution that leverages their content and service offerings to their small business customers.

In addition, Trellix recently announced partnerships with providers of marketing services for small businesses, including email marketing, directory submission, rich media presentations, and online appointment scheduling. These services will be integrated as Web Gems(TM), a Trellix innovation that enables users to easily add interactivity and specialized content such as e-commerce capabilities, merchant affiliate links, site promotion and maps. Through Trellix's Web Gem Software Development Kit (SDK), these providers and many others are able to extend and customize the Trellix platform to incorporate a wide variety of relevant content and services.

Trellix has been building momentum in the small business provider market for more than a year to meet substantial market growth in this sector. In August 2000, Trellix announced an agreement with BizLand.com, a leading provider of online resources for small businesses and a leading vendor of private-labeled Web sites for enterprises and financial institutions. In addition, throughout Trellix's network of partnerships with leading destination sites, such as About, Inc., iVillage, Terra Lycos and ZDNet, approximately one-third of the sites built are entrepreneurial endeavors.

According to market research firm IDC, overall web penetration by small businesses will grow from 33 percent in 2000 to 70 percent by 2003, and small businesses with Web sites will more than double to reach 4.5 million in 2003. Much of the growth in the overall small business market is with businesses with less than five employees.

--Network Commerce, a global technology infrastructure and services company, will add to its existing suite of offerings through partnering with Trellix to enable members to create feature-rich, multi-page web sites. --OLM.net, an integrated hosting and e-business solution provider for individuals, small to medium sized businesses and enterprises around the world, will now afford subscribers easy-to-create, professional Web sites via Trellix Web Express.
