Communicator refers to any Netscape Navigator product with a version number less than 6.0.  for Windows, Macintosh, and Unix. The Bitstream Font Displayer improves the display of dynamic fonts Dynamic fonts is a web browser technology used when visiting any website that uses fonts which are not installed on client's machine. The web browser would not be able to display the page properly, but will select one of fonts available on client machine.  - also known as portable font resources (PFRs), Web fonts, and downloadable fonts - in Netscape Communicator.

If you have an earlier version of Netscape Communicator and you do not wish to upgrade it, you can download and install the free Font Displayer from the Bitstream Web site at http://www.bitstream.com/webfont/regnsdisplayer.html.
