), a leader in broadband wireless access solutions, today introduced the latest solution for broadband wireless access in China.

In conjunction with this introduction, the company hosted a conference on breakthrough Internet, data and voice access technology, which is being held in Beijing. Co-sponsored by the China Communication Society, more than 250 telecommunications professionals and members of the media from throughout China are expected to attend the conference.

"We are excited to introduce this breakthrough technology in such a dynamic and growing market as China," said Mathew Powell, executive vice president, sales and marketing for Netro. "China has been aggressively installing major fiber optic backbones throughout the country, which will enable significant growth of Internet, voice and other data use. However, access to this backbone by apartment buildings, office buildings and small-to-medium size enterprises represents a major challenge. Netro's industry-leading, TDMA (Time Division Multiple Access) A satellite and cellular phone technology that interleaves multiple digital signals onto a single high-speed channel. For cellular, TDMA triples the capacity of the original analog method (FDMA).  packet-switching technology is currently providing the solution to that challenge in more than 35 countries worldwide. We look forward to enabling businesses in China to access this extensive new infrastructure."

Yang Qian Li, vice secretary-general of the China Communication Institute, stressed the importance of broadband wireless access in China during his opening remarks, which were followed by discussions on Netro's unique technology, including Efficient Usage of Radio Spectrum Through the Application of Dynamic Bandwidth and LMDS (Local Multipoint Distribution Service) A digital wireless transmission system that works in the 28 GHz range in the U.S. and 24-40 GHz overseas. It requires line of sight between transmitter and receiving antenna, which can be from one to four miles apart  Usage Experience in Europe. A session for members of the China media concluded the conference.

Netro's state-of-the-art technology is presently deployed by telecommunications providers in more than 35 countries around the world including a field trial currently underway in China. Netro offers products in the 3.5, 10, 26, 28 and 39 GHz frequencies, which are among the most commonly licensed frequencies around the world.

The company's unique point-to-multipoint, TDMA packet-switching technology provides a service provider complete flexibility by allowing small-to-medium businesses the ability to share the spectrum on an "as needed as needed prn. See prn order. " basis using Netro's patented dynamic bandwidth allocation Dynamic Bandwidth Allocation (DBA) is a technique by which traffic bandwidth in a shared telecommunications medium can be allocated on demand and fairly between different users of that bandwidth. , media access layer (CellMAC). This allows the service provider to offer Internet, voice and data access to many more businesses which then only have to pay for the services they actually use.
