(OTCBB:NTPA), a market leader in broadband gateways and service delivery software, today announced that the Wisconsin Hospitality Group (WHG), owner and operator of most Applebee's restaurants in the state of Wisconsin, is using Netopia's Wi-Fi Hot Spots to offer wireless connectivity to patrons of its 37 Applebee's locations.

Netopia's Family Friendly Surfing, a service exclusive to Netopia Hot Spots that restricts access to objectionable content online, was a key factor in WHG's decision. "Applebee's is a family restaurant, and it was very important to us that we be able to ensure Web content accessed in our restaurants be suitable for our patrons," said Cortese.

Netopia's 3-D Reach(R) technology allows WHG to cover each of its Applebee's locations with wireless connectivity through a single Netopia Wi-Fi gateway. Netopia also provides a customized splash page that all hot spot users automatically land on when first connected to the Internet. Applebee's uses this page to promote restaurant specials and menu items, and WHG is also considering using the Netopia Hot Spot splash pages to offer advertising opportunities to local businesses.
