NetMRI Enables Network Managers to Discover and Fix Device System Issues on Firewalls and Router Access Control Lists Before They Become a Problem

ANNAPOLIS, Md. -- Netcordia, a leading provider of network analysis tools, today announced new firewall analysis features for NetMRI, which automatically monitors and analyzes firewall system usage, device system parameters, and firewall rule-sets. The NetMRI Firewall Module provides best practice analysis of firewall system parameters including the CPU, memory, interfaces, utilization and errors, as well as analysis of the adjacent router access control lists. This ensures security of the network by enabling network managers to discover and fix device system issues on firewalls before they become a problem.

NetMRI Firewall Analysis Module reports on high and low usage rules, which assists network or security staff in reordering the rule sets for optimum operation. It generates and reports findings on an easily understandable Scorecard that enables network managers to quickly resolve issues, ensuring the network is running at optimum performance.

The NetMRI Firewall Module also checks configuration of the firewall, and provides early-stage warnings on Access Control Lists. This is a great resource for network managers who are now responsible for larger numbers of firewall systems, all which have increasingly complex rule sets that can take long hours to sort through and organize for optimal network operation.
