Netcordia, a provider of network analysis products, introduced its appliance-based network diagnostic tool, NetMRI. NetMRI is the only network analysis appliance that identifies the system-level issues of operating today's router and switch-based networks.

Like an MRI, this diagnostic tool scans the network, and identifies network issues that should be corrected or examined in more detail. NetMRI identifies the routers and switches, and begins collecting data from them. At the end of each day, the collected data is analyzed using Expert Rules developed by Netcordia. NetMRI summarizes the analysis results into an easy-to-understand Network Scorecard(TM) that gives the network engineer or manager a view of the health of the major network systems, such as VLANs, Security and HSRP, plus a list of network issues to investigate and correct.

Significantly, NetMRI's intelligence and Expert Rules are based on the best network practices developed by the Netcordia team's extensive network analysis experience. In particular, Netcordia's founder, Terry Slattery, is recognized as a leading expert in network analysis.
