NetZero Passes PlanetFeedback.com's ISP Report Card With Flying Colors; Industry Rating Ranks NetZero No. 1.

Business Editors & Consumer Reporters

WESTLAKE VILLAGE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 19, 2000

Proving that quality service does not always signify a higher product cost, NetZero Inc. (Nasdaq:NZRO), a leading provider of free Internet access services and targeted marketing solutions, today announced that the company ranked No. 1 in PlanetFeedback.com's ISP industry report card.

The report card, derived by pooling information from all the letters that consumers have sent through PlanetFeedback, awarded NetZero the highest grade in the ISP space -- making it the only Internet access provider with a grade above the industry's average.

NetZero topped all of its competitors in the rankings -- including fee-based ISPs such as America Online, Earthlink, Juno Online Services, AT&T World Net and Microsoft Networks, among others.

PlanetFeedback.com, a Web site that enables consumers to easily and quickly send feedback letters to companies, extracts essential information from each letter and analyzes it to find the highest or lowest occurrences of the following criteria: feedback type (complaint, compliment, question or suggestion); type of event; and overall satisfaction score.

Overall ratings are derived from the overall satisfaction question that each PlanetFeedback letter writer answers in the PlanetFeedback generator. NetZero received the most compliments for its line availability, price and value, speed, user friendliness and customer service.

"We're thrilled to have been named the top ISP on PlanetFeedback's user satisfaction report," remarked NetZero Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Mark R. Goldston. "NetZero has one of the highest connection rates in the country, a dedicated customer-support department and a quality brand with first-rate services and features.

"We continually strive to deliver the highest-quality, most reliable Internet access to our users -- and this survey reflects our success."
