NetXchange and FaxSav Team Up to Make Internet Fax Available Everywhere; NetXchange's Internet Xchange for Fax Enables Rapid Expansion of FaxSav's Internet Fax Network.

SAN JOSE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 4, 1998--NetXchange Communications, a leading provider of Internet protocol (IP) telephony software and infrastructure, today announced a cooperative agreement with FaxSav, (NASDAQ: FAXX), the global leader in Internet fax. NetXchange is providing FaxSav partners with Internet Xchange for Fax (IXF), enabling them to offer Internet-based fax-to-fax services in areas previously without access to these services. Using a special software module designed jointly by FaxSav and NetXchange, these IXF-enabled partners can now seamlessly link their services with FaxSav's Internet Fax Network.

FaxSav and its partners had been looking for a way to enable them to expand the number of areas around the world served with its Internet-based fax-to-fax services. For customers in areas not served with a local FaxSav IP network node, the advantages of the FaxSav Internet fax network were only available by sending faxes through FaxSav's computer-originated services such as FaxLauncher Pro. Internet-based fax-to-fax services were only available in areas with local access to a FaxSav node. Through the easily deployed smaller-scale NetXchange IXF nodes, it is now possible for FaxSav and its partners to expand fax-to-fax services in lower traffic areas than the 26 major international business centers currently served by FaxSav's own carrier-grade nodes.
