NetWorker PowerSnap with NetWorker 7.1 provides open architecture.


LEGATO Systems new release of NetWorker PowerSnap and NetWorker 7.1. integrates backup and recovery using third-party snapshots with NetWorker. NetWorker PowerSnap provides policy-based snapshot management, integrating and orchestrating snapshots with applications, such as Oracle and Exchange. LEGATO NetWorker 7.1 also delivers the ability to initiate Microsoft Windows Server 2003 Volume Shadow Copy Services (VSS See Vcc. ) for backup and recovery.

LEGATO NetWorker PowerSnap's open architecture provides a unified solution for heterogeneous customer environments that simplifies snapshot management across multiple combinations of applications, servers, operating systems, and storage platforms.

* Comprehensive management of third-party snapshot capability from EMC (1) (EMC Corporation, Hopkinton, MA, www.emc.com) The leading supplier of storage products for midrange computers and mainframes. Founded in 1979 by Richard J. Egan and Roger Marino, EMC has developed advanced storage and retrieval technologies for the world's largest companies.  CLARiiON, IBM (International Business Machines Corporation, Armonk, NY, www.ibm.com) The world's largest computer company. IBM's product lines include the S/390 mainframes (zSeries), AS/400 midrange business systems (iSeries), RS/6000 workstations and servers (pSeries), Intel-based servers (xSeries)  FAST Storage Servers, Sun StorEdge Availability Suite, STK D Series, and coming soon, EMC Symmetrix DMX See DMX512.
