NetVision Inc., the world's leading provider of network directory administration solutions, Monday announced the NetVision Policy Management Suite, a tightly integrated set of tools that moves administration beyond simple directory synchronization into true policy-based networking.

The suite includes NetVision's award-winning Synchronicity technology, tightly integrated with newly enhanced versions of its DirectoryAlert and ServerAlert products. As a unified whole, the Policy Management Suite gives administrators directory integration, cross-platform policy enforcement, and advanced auditing and reporting, all in real time.

user and group administration across NDS, Windows NT, Active Directory,

they want their file systems and operating systems to react to change. It
includes support for default password requirements, default group memberships,
access to corporate resources (such as trustee changes, printers, file shares
and Web content), and file access and content;

-- Advanced auditing and reporting -- provides flexible capabilities for
determining the who, what, when, where of policy violations, as well as the
consequences of policy violations. Reports are exportable to a wide variety of
platforms, including XML, comma-delimited, databases (such as Notes, SQL Server
and Oracle), e-mail, pagers, SNMP, SMTP and others.

Based on NetVision Global Event Services technology, the Policy Management Suite combines the powerful capabilities of versions 3.5 (the latest releases) of NetVision's Synchronicity, DirectoryAlert and ServerAlert to give administrators real-time policy management.

synchronization tool that also manages user/group accounts

(additions, modifications and deletions). Synchronicity

performs cross-platform (bi-directional) password

synchronization across NDS, Active Directory, Windows NT,

iPlanet, Exchange, LotusNotes/Domino, NetWare 3 and GroupWise.

-- DirectoryAlert 3.5 provides real-time monitoring, auditing and

reporting of all activities within the directory with Visual

Basic filtering that allows administrators to receive as much

or as little of this information as they desire.

DirectoryAlert includes support for a wide range of

notification options (such as e-mail, Web page, database or

pager). Visual Basic scripting enhancements in the latest

release allow DirectoryAlert to audit and report violations to

management in real time, with concurrent "self-healing"

recovery or reversal of the action. It also automatically

notifies (and thus educates) end users of policy violations.

-- ServerAlert 3.5 performs the same real-time monitoring and

policy management functions as DirectoryAlert, but on the file

system and operating system. Administrators control which

individuals have access to files and have the ability to load

and unload NLMs.

The NetVision Policy Management Suite and version 3.5 of Synchronicity, DirectoryAlert and ServerAlert are available now. An annual subscription agreement for the NetVision Policy Management Suite starts at $11.00 per user, plus $295.00 per monitored server.
