NetQoS Joins Forces to Standardize Application Performance Management; New Business Policy Initiative Seeks to Align APM Solutions.

AUSTIN, Texas -- NetQoS(sm) Inc., the network performance experts, today announced charter membership in the Business Policy Initiative, a new consortium working together to develop common terminology and structure for applications and underlying services. The goal of the consortium is to bring broader application performance management capabilities to companies worldwide.

"While many performance management vendors work to map IT to the business, providing the ability to integrate capabilities across multi-vendor solutions would be a powerful concept. Our goal is to help lead an effort to define the ways in which this can be accomplished."

The group will focus on tactical issues in the development of a much broader policy structure that streamlines the development of a basic configuration and the distribution of service policies. This initial focus will be on the 'application construct' that provides an association of the various resources and logical identifiers that support the delivery of an application.
