"We are pleased to incorporate access to Progressive Networks' audio sites into Chameleon 4.6," said Bob Williams, vice president of business development at NetManage. "NetManage is committed to bringing customers a completely integrated set of Internet solutions for accessing all types of multimedia information they will use in their everyday life. Progressive Networks is a leader in providing `real-time' streaming audio via the Internet and has a strong list of audio content providers already publishing on the Internet using Progressive Networks' technology."

"There are over 1 million RealAudio Players in distribution, but having the RealAudio Player with Chameleon 4.6 WebSurfer Web browser will give more Internet users, specifically NetManage customers, immediate access to hundreds of hours of real-time audio programming," said Rob Glaser, president of Progressive Networks.

The RealTime Audio Player allows users to play audio files instantly, without delay. This is a real breakthrough compared to typical download times encountered with delivery of audio over conventional on-line methods. Typically audio is downloaded at a rate five times longer than the actual program -- the listener must wait 25 minutes before listening to five minutes of audio. The RealAudio Encoder allows individuals to encode their audio in analog or digital source. The RealAudio Server product allows content providers to distribute the encoded audio or audio-based multimedia over the Internet to a broad base of consumers and end users.
