NetIntercept 3.2: Now Your Network Traffic Is More Visible Than Ever.

MALDEN, Mass. -- Sandstorm Enterprises Founded in 1998 by Simson Garfinkel, James van Bokkelen, Dan Geer, and several other experts in computer security, Sandstorm is a computer security tools developer located in the greater Boston Area. , Inc. has released NetIntercept 3.2, the latest version of its network visibility and analysis appliance, and made a software-only demonstration version available for download from their Web site.

NetIntercept 3.2 offers these improvements:

--Analyzes BitTorrent, Windows MetaFile The native vector graphics file format in Windows. Windows Metafiles also can hold bitmaps and text. The original 16-bit format uses the .WMF file extension. The subsequent 32-bit format, which supports more sophisticated graphics functions, generates .EMF (Enhanced MetaFile) files. , 802.11 (Kismet kismet

), IPv6, ICMPv6, PPP (Point-to-Point Protocol) The most popular method for transporting IP packets over a serial link between the user and the ISP. Developed in 1994 by the IETF and superseding the SLIP protocol, PPP establishes the session between the user's computer and the ISP using , and PPPoE protocols. It efficiently recovers text strings from the application/www-form-urlencoded MIME type A file identification based on the MIME encoding system. The MIME type has become the de facto standard for identifying content on the Internet. For example, in order to identify the type of attachment sent in an e-mail message, its MIME type is embedded in the message header. .

--Handles heavy traffic loads - analysis is easier using our sessionization filtering by MAC address, IP address or port number

--Saves captured images, host maps, and traffic charts to file. New context-sensitive menus are also available in many places, and reports now support IPv6 address space information.

--Supports a USB USB

Type of serial bus that allows peripheral devices (disks, modems, printers, digitizers, data gloves, etc.) to be easily connected to a computer.

--Provides two new hardware configuration options

NetIntercept performs deep analysis on your captured network traffic, revealing details of connections between machines that no other tool can. NetIntercept is silent on the wire, provides secure remote administration features, and drills down through multiple layers of encryption, compression and transfer encoding to reveal more about your network traffic.

Prices for NetIntercept start at under $10,000, making network traffic recording, session reconstruction, anomaly detection, automated operations and advanced analysis a cost-effective addition to your network monitoring and security toolkit. Download the demonstration version of NetIntercept 3.2 from the Sandstorm sandstorm, strong dry wind blowing over the desert that raises and carries along clouds of sand or dust often so dense as to obscure the sun and reduce visibility almost to zero; also known as a duststorm.  Web site to easily evaluate this powerful tool.
