SAN JOSE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 11, 2004

NetIQ Corp. (Nasdaq:NTIQ), a leading provider of Systems & Security Management and Web Analytics solutions, today announced a technology alliance with AK Computer Services Ltd. As a UK-based technology partner of NetIQ, AK Computer Services has been granted a worldwide license to provide ongoing development and support for the following AppManager(R) modules:

-- AppManager for Microsoft Analysis Services

-- AppManager for Microsoft Application Center

-- AppManager for Microsoft BizTalk Server

-- AppManager for Microsoft Commerce Server

-- AppManager for Microsoft ISA

-- AppManager for Microsoft Message Queue Server

-- AppManager for Microsoft SMS

-- AppManager for Microsoft Transaction Server

-- AppManager for Microsoft Windows Load Balancing Services

Through May 28, 2004, existing customers of these modules should continue to contact NetIQ for technical support. After May 28, 2004, these modules will be re-branded as Gestio Modules for AppManager, and will be sold and supported by AK Computer Services and its authorized channel partners.

"NetIQ is bringing products to market faster by leveraging a partner eco-system to accelerate enhancements to AppManager modules," said David Pann, vice president of product management and product marketing for the Systems Management Group at NetIQ. "Our alliance with AK Computer Services will enable AppManager customers to continue to have the broadest and deepest management view into their distributed IT infrastructure."

AppManager's modular architecture allows application-specific modules to be easily developed independent of the underlying agent and management infrastructure. The Gestio modules will run on top of the same agent and management infrastructure as all other AppManager modules, including those developed directly by NetIQ.

AK Computer Services is a systems management consultancy that provides system design, implementation, performance tuning and customization services for AppManager, AppAnalyzer(R) and Microsoft SQL Server. The company is led by former NetIQ employees with 17 years of combined experience working with AppManager.

"AK Computer Services is proud of the confidence that NetIQ has displayed in our abilities, customer commitment and operational stability," said Peter Stevens, managing director at AK Computer Services. "Our extensive knowledge of AppManager and NetIQ will enable a seamless transition of development and support from NetIQ to AK Computer Services."
