NetIQ Corporation (Nasdaq:NTIQ), a leading provider of e-business infrastructure management software, today announced the availability of NetIQ AppAnalyzer, a Web-based analysis and reporting tool for Microsoft Exchange Messaging and groupware software for Windows from Microsoft. Exchange Server is an Internet-compliant e-mail system that runs under Windows NT/2000 and Windows Server 2003. It can be accessed by Web browsers, the Exchange client, versions of Outlook and the earlier Windows Inbox.  5.5 and Exchange 2000 Server. AppAnalyzer delivers Exchange Server usage information that allows IT personnel to document enterprise-wide message delivery performance, understand system usage trends, and plan for system enhancements and implement chargeback or cost recovery policies. Because AppAnalyzer can collect and summarize months of data, trends can be established and forecasted quickly and effectively. AppAnalyzer also provides useful information that spans from the IT managers who are responsible for keeping the systems up and running to the business managers who want to understand more about their e-mail-based customer contact.

"AppAnalyzer simplifies the management of Exchange services within even very large Windows NT (Windows New Technology) A 32-bit operating system from Microsoft for Intel x86 CPUs. "It provides a way to retrieve, correlate and interpret data from multiple servers, delivering a unified view of Exchange activity and performance."

IT personnel can use it to generate a variety of views, reports and charts that:
-- Verify service level agreements.

-- Identify users and departments that are consuming the most resources such as
storage or bandwidth.

-- Forecast usage trends, based on weeks or months of data, to plan for
hardware upgrades.

-- Assign monetary chargeback values for messaging services to departments or
individual users.

-- Reveal and reduce service misuse.

By focusing on "how" enterprise-messaging systems are being used, AppAnalyzer complements other NetIQ Exchange-focused products, including NetIQ AppManager, which provides performance and availability monitoring, advanced alerting and automated management for Windows NT- and Windows 2000-based server applications and systems.
