Nepal.

After several years of advocacy, abortion was finally legalised in Nepal in 2002. Services in some public hospitals have begun, with a March 2007 report from the Ministry of Health revealing that more than 100,000 safe abortion services have been provided to women in these facilities.

Though this data is encouraging, a recent unpublished study conducted by Dr. Aruna According to Hindu mythology and Hindu scriptures, Aruna or Arun refers to the charioteer of the Sun, including the rising Sun. Aruna refers to the redness of the rising Sun, which is believed to have spiritual powers. He is believed to be a cripple (without thighs).  Upreti Upreti (देवनागरी:उप्रेती), is a Hindu surname used by many Brahmins living in the Kumaon region of Uttarakhand state of India. As per legend, they are the descendents of the sage Bharadwaj.  in many rural areas of Nepal reveals that much remains to be done to ensure that people in the rural areas become aware that abortion is now legal. 450 women and 50 men (community-based health volunteers, members of community-based organisations, non-government organisation workers, and school teachers and workers) participated in focus group discussions.

The research revealed that an overwhelming 90% of the women were not aware of the legalisation n. 1. the act of legalizing; same as legalization.

Only doctors and nurses who had training on post-abortion services have knowledge about abortion's legal status. More unfortunately, these health practitioners often lack a rights perspective. Instead of seeing access to abortion as a woman's basic right, many of them make it mandatory for husbands or relatives to give permission before providing abortion services. The research calls on greater government and civil society efforts to provide information about the law, particularly in the rural areas; the removal of administrative barriers such as spousal spou·sal
