Neon Software's New CyberGauge 7.0 -- Adds Security Features, Easier to Use; Popular Bandwidth Monitoring Software Now Supports SNMP v2 and v3, Enables Custom-sized Jpeg Chart Exports, and Sports an Easier to Use Interface.

LAFAYETTE, Calif. -- Neon Software, Inc. announced today the immediate availability of CyberGauge 7.0 for Windows, a new version of the company's award-winning bandwidth monitoring software. CyberGauge helps network administrators monitor and manage their Internet bandwidth by automatically creating real-time utilization graphs as well as daily, weekly, and monthly quality of service (QoS) and billing reports. With CyberGauge, companies can avoid over-paying bandwidth fees and provide detailed documentation for audits and compliance. The software works with any SNMP-based device, including routers, switches, and servers.

"I heard of CyberGauge from my rep at AT&T," said Tommy Green, network administrator at Amoco Federal Credit Union. "We were having bandwidth issues across our WAN, and he had it on his laptop and ran it for us to help troubleshoot. I liked it so much I had to have it."

The problem is not limited to private enterprises and government entities. Colleges and universities welcome new students this month, many of whom use the schools' networks to download music, videos and more. Safeguarding higher education higher education

Lower education institutions also see the benefit. "We've used CyberGauge for years to monitor our networks because it's reliable and easy to use," said Lee Bailey, Network Administrator for Fayette County Fayette County is the name of eleven counties in the United States:

Most Important New Features in CyberGauge 7.0

CyberGauge 7.0 combines the product's historical benefits -- ease of use, functionality and price -- with new benefits that make monitoring even easier.

Support for SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol) A widely used network monitoring and control protocol. Data are passed from SNMP agents, which are hardware and/or software processes reporting activity in each network device (hub, router, bridge, etc.  v2 and v3

CyberGauge supports thousands of devices without requiring a single line of programming or customization. The new support for SNMP v2 and v3 allows more organizations to use CyberGauge with even more devices. In addition, true two-way authentication (1) Verifying the integrity of a transmitted message. See message integrity, e-mail authentication and MAC.

(2) Verifying the identity of a user logging into a network.
and encryption The reversible transformation of data from the original (the plaintext) to a difficult-to-interpret format (the ciphertext) as a mechanism for protecting its confidentiality, integrity and sometimes its authenticity. Encryption uses an encryption algorithm and one or more encryption keys.  makes SNMP v3 even more secure than v1 or v2.

Custom-sized jpeg chart exports

CyberGauge creates graphs of actual bandwidth utilization. All the information gathered can then be easily viewed, printed, exported, or saved for long-term trend analysis and bandwidth planning. Network administrators configure CyberGauge to copy the chart image to an accessible FTP site A server on the Internet that maintains files for downloading. An FTP site may be one or more servers or just one or two folders dedicated to file transfer on a single server. See FTP and anonymous FTP. , so the jpeg can be included on any web page to use as a real-time traffic monitor or a way to view a bandwidth test remotely. Now these charts may be custom-sized for each interface.

Availability and Pricing

CyberGauge 7.0 is now available from Neon Software resellers, distributors, and the Neon Software web site at http://www.neon.com.

CyberGauge is priced based on the number of devices monitored. Prices start at only $395 for five devices with any number of interfaces. Upgrades start at only US$99.
