NeoPath Networks file virtualization predictions for 2007.

As 2006 came to a close, the executive staff at NeoPath Networks, a provider of network file management (NFM) solutions, started looking ahead to 2007 and discussing trends in the field of file virtualization. As they talked about industry developments they anticipate, they formulated five predictions for the file virtualization field in 2007.

- File virtualization adoption will grow by 300% in the next year.

- Disruptive migrations will cost Fortune 500 businesses over a billion dollars in 2007.

- Storage vendors will work together to create "system virtualization standards" so that data can be managed and migrated effectively regardless of vendor IP.

- There will be further consolidation in the market as larger players identify best-of-breed offerings and see the competitive advantage in adding these solutions to their portfolio.

- More than half of all virtualization solutions will be shipped with standard data protection software to increase data security, and availability.

If you would like further information on the predictions of the NeoPath executive management team, please contact Janet Martin at jmartin@vocecomm.com.
