While some of the distinguished members of NeoGenomics' Scientific Advisory Board were previously announced, the Company was pleased to have additional attendees and presenters. Participants of the meeting were:
-- Michael T. Dent, M.D., Company Founder and President, is a board-certified Obstetrician and Gynecologist. He is also a member of the American Association of Cancer Researchers. Dr. Dent's reputation, understanding of women's healthcare issues, and relationships within the medical community will be instrumental in directing the Company's research. His clinical insights and ability to facilitate data collection will assure the advisory board in achieving their research goals.

-- Navnit S. Mitter, Ph.D., Director of the Cytogenetics Laboratory at NeoGenomics, is certified by the American Board of Medical Genetics. He is also a Fellow of the American College of Medical Genetics and has 24+ years of experience in prenatal, postnatal and cancer clinical and molecular cytogenetics, molecular genetics, dysmorphology and genetic counseling. Dr. Mitter will be involved in designing the protocols, evaluation, interpretation and publication of results for the research projects with NeoGenomics.

-- Li-Fang Liang, Ph.D., is currently the Director of Molecular Biology and Discovery at MetaMorphix Incorporated whose expertise is in the areas of molecular biology, protein biochemistry, and antibody development. Dr. Liang will contribute to the advisory panel's understanding of female and infant diseases at the molecular level.

-- Eric Fung, M.D., Ph.D., from Ciphergen BioSystems Inc., made a presentation to the Company's Scientific Advisory Board on the subject of Ciphergen's proprietary ProteinChip(R) technology platform and its uses in the proteomic analysis of ovarian, breast, and other cancers.

-- Dawn Van Hise, M.S., holds a Master of Science degree in Microbiology and currently serves as Research Associate in the NeoGenomics Laboratory. She has a strong molecular biology background and five years of post-graduate work in biotechnology, specifically gene therapy, drug discovery and product development. Dawn will be the primary scientist carrying out most of the bench research.


The advisory board consulted on R&D strategies and techniques, offering the scientists at NeoGenomics an opportunity to benefit from their pool of knowledge and discuss the Company's core programs. The overall objective of this first meeting was to establish committees based on each individual's expertise, in order to streamline the Company's research focus. In keeping with their ultimate goal of discovering genetic indicators that can be used in the early detection of female and infant diseases, the panel discussed recent advancements in genomics and available technologies to determine the initial scope of their future research projects.
