NearPoint Earns an ''A'' in E-Mail Data Management; United Teachers Los Angeles Chooses Mimosa NearPoint Solution for Its Next-Generation Recovery & Archiving Capabilities Along With Its Non-Invasive E-Mail Auditing Features.

SANTA CLARA, Calif. -- Mimosa Systems(TM), Inc., today announced United Teachers Los Angeles (UTLA UTLA United Teachers of Los Angeles (California) ) has selected Mimosa NearPoint(TM) for Microsoft(R) Exchange Server for unified e-mail data management. While the 47,000 member Los Angeles Teachers Union originally focused on NearPoint's next-generation recovery and archiving capabilities, they soon discovered that it also offered an easy way to perform e-mail content auditing while maintaining employees' privacy.

"NearPoint(TM) was the perfect solution for UTLA to solve our Exchange backup recovery and archiving challenges," explained Don Carlos, Director of Information Services See Information Systems.  & Technology, UTLA. "We quickly realized that as an all-in-one solution, its seamless audit functionality let us establish an easy, comprehensive e-mail auditing process while respecting each employee's privacy."

NearPoint provides UTLA users with immediate access to their historical e-mail archive through seamless integration with Microsoft Outlook(R). Users can quickly locate "lost" e-mail messages, tasks, calendar items and contacts with a simple "Google-like" search. NearPoint also provides UTLA with the following additional benefits:

--Near real-time backup of Exchange data that drives immediate, complete recovery of e-mail mailboxes and Exchange databases with its unique Continuous Application Shadowing technology

--Ability to reduce Exchange storage, by using the built-in Mailbox Extension feature, allowing users "infinite" mailboxes without resorting to .PST PST Paroxysmal supraventricular tachycardia, see there  files

An additional challenge for UTLA was the need to establish a process by which they could conduct periodic audits of e-mail. It was critical to UTLA that such processes maintain e-mail user's privacy, which was not possible with Exchange. With NearPoint deployed, UTLA can use the audit functionality in the product to perform ad hoc keyword searches across multiple mailboxes -- avoiding singling out individual mailboxes or reading individual e-mails. The advanced functionality and flexibility of NearPoint attained the needed balance for UTLA.

UTLA utilized the services of All Covered, a technology service provider, to select and deploy NearPoint.

"A key driver in our decision to recommend Mimosa NearPoint was its next generation technology for Microsoft Exchange archiving and data protection," explained Jack Lamb, Managing Consultant, All Covered. "The rapid recovery, legal discovery, and compliance capabilities enabled by Mimosa, a fellow Microsoft Gold Certified Partner, helps All Covered deliver customer satisfaction for Microsoft products and technology."
