Image Recognition Integrated Systems (I.R.I.S.), a publicly traded Belgian company (BXS:IRI) and a leader in the development of multilingual OCR ("Optical Character Recognition") software, announces today that Navarre Corporation (NASDAQ:NAVR), a major distributor of software products, will market and promote its full line of OCR products throughout the United States.

PC data reported that Navarre's distributed share of productivity software reached 22% in March 2000. This increase demonstrates the Computer Products Division expansion of its market share in the distribution of personal computer software. Well known for its dominant share in the distribution of entertainment software, 52% through the first three months of the year, Navarre has steadily increased its share in the productivity category due in large part to its distribution share of Linux software and related products.

Navarre will distribute the following IRIS products:

Readiris 6.0: This is the market's most comprehensive software for flatbed scanners. It recognizes 56 languages. The easy-to-use package allows the conversion of documents into editable computer file. The recently released version handles color and greyscale images and provides an OCR batch functionality for the recognition of multi-page documents. The product is available in both PC and Mac platforms. Readiris was recently licensed by Hewlett-Packard, Compaq, and Agfa for use in their scanners MFP products.

IRISPen II Executive: This highlighter-sized OCR device allows users to scan small bits of information into any Windows or Macintosh applications. This version also comes with bar code recognition and text-to-speech modules. The product is available in PC and Mac platforms. A USB model will be available this summer.

Cardiris: This product allows users to scan and recognize business card information into a sophisticated database.
