Naval Supply Systems Command (April 4, 2006): John C. Goodhart named NAVSUP executive director.


Rear Admiral Daniel H. Stone, commander, Naval Supply Systems Command (NAVSUP NAVSUP Naval Supply Systems Command ), announced April 4, 2006, the selection of John C. Goodhart to replace Jeffery Orner as NAVSUP executive director. Orner's move to the U.S. Coast Guard was announced earlier.

Goodhart currently serves as assistant deputy commander, Fleet Logistics Support in the Logistics, Maintenance, and Industrial Operations Directorate at the Naval Sea Systems Command The Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) is the largest of the U.S. Navy's five "systems commands," or materiel organizations. NAVSEA consists of four shipyards, eight "warfare centers" (two undersea and six surface), four major shipbuilding locations and the NAVSEA headquarters,  (NAVSEA NAVSEA Naval Sea Systems Command

). He is the senior logistician at NAVSEA responsible for logistics policy, processes, tools, and execution of both acquisition logistics and in-service support. Prior to his present assignment he served as the deputy site director of Mechanicsburg Operations, Naval Sea Logistics Center.

He was named Executive of the Year by the Central Pennsylvania Chapter of the Federal Executive Association, was co-winner of NAVSEA's Logistician of the Year Award, and received the Admiral Stan Arthur Award for leading the Naval Logistics Team of the Year. In 2002, Goodhart received the Department of the Navy Meritorious Civilian Service Award.

With headquarters in Mechanicsburg, Pa., and employing a worldwide workforce of more than 24,000 military and civilian personnel, NAVSUP oversees logistics programs in the areas of supply operations, conventional ordnance, contracting, resale, fuel, transportation, and security assistance.
