Urban forests are important for more than just park benches and property values: in fact, they're vital for a community's health, enjoyment, and economic well-being. The 2005 National Conference on Urban Ecosystems Urban ecosytems are the cities, towns and urban strips constructed by humans.

This growth in the urban population and the supporting built infrastructure has impacted on both urban environments and also on areas which surround urban areas.
 will show participants how to reconnect people to their city's natural resources.

The conference, Nature at Your Service, will be organized by AMERICAN FORESTS American Forests is a nonprofit conservation organization that promotes healthy forests and urban tree planting.

The organization was established in 1875 as the American Forestry Association, by physician/horticulturist John Aston Warder and a group of like-minded citizens

Nature at Your Service is designed both for those who want to infuence the shape and direction of their community and for those who must meet environmental quality requirements.
