Nationwide Financial.

For an annual fee of 0.60%, Nationwide Financial has begun offering owners of certain of its variable annuities Capital Preservation Plus Lifetime income, which guarantees return of principal during the accumulation/preservation period, and then withdrawals for life. The capital preservation phase lasts five, seven or 10 years and can be renewed. After the preservation phase, investors may each year withdraw from 4% to 7% (depending on age at first withdrawal) of an amount guaranteed for life, even if their contract value falls to zero.
