NationsBank Consumer Finance Group Selects Softlab; Financial Services Leader to Use Softlab's Enabler Object Repository To Efficiently Manage Critical Data.

ATLANTA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 5, 1998--Softlab Enabling Technologies today announced a major agreement with NationsBank to license Softlab's Enabler Object Repository. Enabler helps organizations manage the constantly changing data associated with today's complex business information systems.

NationsBank, one of the largest financial services companies in the United States, sought to manage the disparate elements of data, software artifacts, metadata, and other objects within the company's vast information infrastructure.

The company found Softlab's Enabler technology to provide the unique qualities they required. A thorough examination of various DBMS, OODBMS, proprietary tools and repository technologies was undertaken. The evaluating team concluded that Softlab's Enabler object repository was an essential part of the "reuse" process, as it provides both a place to store source code, analysis & design models, and documentation to be reused, and a means to find and retrieve that information.
