National Urban Land Institute Advisory Panel Turns its Focus to the Redevelopment of the State Road 7 / US 441 Corridor.

 Advisory Panels in South Florida have studied Central Beach in Fort Lauderdale Fort Lauderdale (lô`dərdāl), residential, commercial, and resort city (1990 pop. 149,377), seat of Broward co., SE Fla., on the Atlantic coast; settled around a fort built (c.1837) in the Seminole War, inc. 1911.  (Urban Land, Aug. 2003); multifamily trends in Hollywood (Summer 2003), and Downtown Hollywood (February 1999).

The Urban Land Institute's State Road 7 Advisory Panel will convene in South Florida Monday, March 15th and begin with a tour of the State Road 7 / US 441 corridor in Broward County. The team will interview stakeholders as it studies the market potential of the corridor, planning and design issues, and then prepare a draft report containing their findings and recommendations.

On Friday, March 19th, the ULI Advisory Panel will offer its findings and recommendations addressing State Road 7's market potential, short- and long-term design and planning goals, development strategies, and methods of implementation. The Advisory Panel's finding and recommendations will assist the Collaborative in its development of the State Road 7 Strategic Master Plan. This strategic plan will address many issues that have been identified as challenges to redevelopment along the corridor and provide a common planning framework for the 14 governments that share jurisdiction of the corridor. Designated a "Premium Transit Corridor" by Broward County, approximately twenty percent of the county's population lives within one mile of the State Road 7 corridor. The corridor's central location, its role as a connector to Palm Beach and Miami-Dade counties, premium transit service, increased regional population growth, and a dwindling dwin·dle
