National Trails Symposium to be held in Iowa.


The Iowa Quad Cities

The Quad Cities are a group of cities which flank the Mississippi River in Iowa and Illinois in the midwestern United States.
 area will host the 18th National Trails Symposium on Oct. 19-22 at the RiverCenter in Davenport Davenport, city (1990 pop. 95,333), seat of Scott co., E central Iowa, on the Mississippi River; inc. 1836. Bridges connect it with the Illinois cities of Rock Island and Moline; the three communities and neighboring Bettendorf, Iowa, are known as the Quad Cities. .

The symposium, sponsored by American Trails, will address motorized mo·tor·ize  
tr.v. mo·tor·ized, mo·tor·iz·ing, mo·tor·iz·es
1. To equip with a motor.

2. To supply with motor-driven vehicles.

3. To provide with automobiles.
 and non-motorized trail issues. Gil Penalosa, president of Walk & Bike For Life, is scheduled to be a keynote speaker at the event. Penalosa has inspired more than a million people to walk, run, bike or skate skate, fish: see ray.

Any of nine genera (suborder Rajoidea) of rounded to diamond-shaped rays. These bottom-dwellers are found from tropical to near-Arctic waters and from the shallows to depths of more than 9,000 ft (2,700 m).

The symposium will feature workshops and educational sessions led by nationally recognized experts, as well as field trips and recreational opportunities. Early registration fees are in effect through Aug. 31.
