National President's message.

As summer is drawing to a close, your National Board of Directors is working on an exciting new fiscal year with the Canadian Institute of Management. There are many initiatives underway as the result of the Action plans that have been created by the Marketing, Education, Communication, Membership, and Finance Committees.

I would like to draw your attention to the survey results in this issue of our magazine. As promised, we are publishing the survey results for everyone to see. Quality Research Marketing Inc. have been busy over the last few months gathering information from our organization using surveys on the web, telephone and email contact with both past and present members. I would like to thank Pyper Unitt and Krista Ellis for the great job they have done and we are pleased to begin sharing these results with you now. This is the first of four articles being written by Quality Research Marketing Inc. This article will provide you with the demographic results from the survey and answers the question "Who are we now?" Future articles will provide information on the Education, Marketing and member retention issues that are so important to us as an organization.

On behalf of the National Board of Directors I would like to take this opportunity to welcome two new members to the National Board. Deb Johnstone, from the Saskatoon/Regina Branch, has taken on the responsibilities of the National Director of Marketing. Nancy Aiello, from the Ottawa Valley Branch, is now working as the National Director Communication. Deb and Nancy were elected to the National Board at our Annual General Meeting, in London in June 2003.

We would like to remind you to check out our redesigned Web site at www.cim.ca. You can update your personal profile, see what events are being offered by CIM in your region, register for events, contact any member of the National Board, post a job or let people know that you are available for new challenges. Other great sections include People and Companies in the news as well as some information on the Institute and the courses that we offer. Take advantage of this site. You'll be glad you did.

We hope that you had a safe and enjoyable summer and look forward to hearing from you in the future.
