The national IRC houses a comprehensive MS library and a sophisticated computer database system See database program and DBMS. that enables its staff to respond to information requests from the Society's 80 offices across the nation. The Society's Web site is also managed by the IRC. Mr. Brown, who joined the fledgling Society's board in 1953, still remembers the agony of trying to get reliable information about MS when his wife was diagnosed in the early 1940s and no central resource existed. |
