National Institute for Rural Engineering Starts Running Biomass Plants in Chiba.


Tokyo, Japan, Oct 20, 2005 - (JCNN JCNN Japan Corporate News Network ) - The National Institute for Rural Engineering (NIRE NIRE National Institute for Resources and Environment ) has begun operating its biomass plants located in Yamada Town, Chiba. In collaboration with local authorities and residents, the NIRE will assess the capability of the plants and environmental impacts in designated areas.

Through this project, the entity aims to construct a regional circulation system for effective management of biomass sources. The project which will be subsidized with about 200 million yen ($1.7 mil) by the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries
  • Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (Japan)
  • Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (Cambodia)
 will continue through 2006.

In addition, the NIRE plans to hold an on-site session to introduce details of the project on November 1.
